No Point in Sleeping in Alone.

Yesterday Landon had to work.  I hate it when he works on Saturdays because then I have to stay home all alone for most of the day, and I don't like it.  So finally, I decided I would just go with him.  He is working on the Mountain View Corridor project out in West Jordan.  He samples and tests the earth work to make sure it is safe and sound to build a road on.  His job is very important.  Now, I work for the same company as him, but I work up in a lab in Cottonwood Heights.  I sample and test the materials that they are going to make the road out of.  I make sure that they aren't too coarse or too fine.  They have to be just right or else your roads you drive on won't be very well built and potentially dangerous. You're welcome.  Anyways, since we work for the same company, and I am certified in all of the safety procedures, Landon didn't see why it would be a problem if I tagged along for the day.  So fun. This is the sunrise from yesterday morning.

After driving around taking tests for a couple hours we stumbled upon this glorious machine.  A brand new track hoe that only had 4.1 hours logged on it.  Landon and I were very delighted to find it to say the least.  Sometimes, I wish it was my job to drive this puppy around.  I asked this guy what you had to do to be able to have that as your job.  He simply said, "Don't go to college."

So that is Landon's work, mine isn't quite as scenic seeing as I have to stay in the lab most of the day testing the asphault and the aggregates, but sometimes, it gets slow and I have to make water balloons out of my gloves and draw faces on them.  Soon after this picture was taken, the poor guy exploded soaking me.  Does Landon get to have fun like that?  The answer is no.

Such a Good Weekend

What happened this weekend you may ask? Well, first, we went to the BYU game on saturday.  I got sunburned on the right side of my face, which kinda sucked but that game sure didn't.  56-3. so sad. for idaho state. ha! Then, we immediately headed up to Ogden so we could go to dinner with the fam. i.e. all of the Borders.  We went to Golden Corral.  We are a buffet kind of people, I guess.  I dunno, I basically eat a mountain of the crab salad. and that's it. Then, we went and rode the FLOWRIDER!! That's only like one of my top ten favorite things ever.  The next day was my cousin Keegan's farewell.  He is going on his mission to Fort Worth, Texas.  He gave one of the most inspiring and touching talks I have ever heard.  And believe me, I have been to A LOT of farewell talks.  I am so proud of Keeg.  He is going to do great things.  But I am going to miss that kid.  Who am I going to rough house with at Thanksgiving this year?  Then! Yesterday, although it wasn't the weekend, it was mine and Landon's 4 month anniversary and we went to SUSHI!! I love sushi. I could eat it everyday. Best night ever.  Well maybe not the best night of all time, but sushi can make any ordinary night extraordinary. And my husband is the greatest.  I love that guy. After dinner last night, we sat on the couch and just made each other laugh.  really hard.  I married this guy because he makes me happy.  Plain and simple. Oh yeah, and he is smokin'. Now prepare yourself, because here comes a lot of random pictures of him and me.

Spoiled!!!

ok, so I realize that I just posted below, BUT I really want to show you what my husband just bought me for the upcoming winter.  If you think I am bragging about it... then you are right. Don't judge. Or do. Whatevs.

Just for the record, I have skiied all my life but unlike the rest of my familia, it hasn't ever really been my thing.  I blame my friends for not doing it with me as the reason why I wasn't a die-hard.  It's not as fun skiing by yourself.  Anyways, when I started dating Landon, I also started dating a winter lover and if I wanted to stay with him, well, I was going to have to start at least liking it as well.  So, I strapped on my dad's old snow pants and my coat I've had for far too long, hopped on my ski's that debuted in the mid-90's and hit the slopes with my beau.  To my astonishment, I didn't hate it.  We went skiing/snowboarding more last winter than I have been probably in the last 5 years.  Then, he got really daring and strapped me on his snowboard when he decided to take up skiing.  That was when I realized, perhaps the reason I hadn't enjoyed skiing as much was because I was meant to be on a BOARD! And the boarder inside me came alive.  We decided if I was going to keep that up this year the I would probably need my own stuff, new not-from-the-previous-century kind of stuff.  It was Landon's mission to turn this ski-hobo into a ski-bunny.  And I believe he has succeeded.

Caution: This Post is Mushy. You have been warned.

Sometimes I can't get over how much I love this dude.  He is a goof ball.  He makes me laugh everyday, he tells me I am pretty, he is really good at growing beards, he doesn't care if I make him the same sandwich three days in a row, he puts up with my alter-ego Unconscious Whitney who makes her appearances in the middle of the night and early in the morning, he buys me things just because he wants to, he tries to get me to understand cars and football (which he is now succeeding at), he always includes me even with the guys, he talks to me on the phone at least 4 times a day, he teases me, he laughs with me, he talks sense into me when I'm not making any, he gets rid of spiders and earwigs, he stands up for me, and he loves me. How could you not love that?

according to my husband

I'm a crazy cook. but in my defense, he brings it out in me.
we got the cougar hat for a killer deal.
and according to Landon, I have to wear it everywhere.
and he thinks I'm the crazy cook.
right.

regardless....
